The IEEE Biometrics Council is proud to announce that the edition of its newsletter for Winter 2013 is now available. It contains a number of updates on biometric conferences/workshops and other IEEE activities related to biometrics. Namely, this edition of the newsletter contains:

  • an interview of Hanspeter Thür (Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, Switzerland) who discusses Biometrics Security and Privacy Protection;
  • a short article "Sketch Based Face Recognition" by Scott Klum, Brendan Klare, Hu Han, and Anil Jain
  • the agenda of forthcoming biometrics conferences;
  • an announcement of the elevation to IEEE fellow of Jonathan Connell and Jim Wayman;
