IEEE-USA Offers Free e-books to Members in July, August, and September

As a special benefit to IEEE members for the month of July, IEEE-USA is offering "Leading and Managing Engineering & Technology – Book 1: Perspectives on Leading and Managing." Gerard H. “Gus” Gaynor writes that the competencies needed to lead and manage continue to be misunderstood. As a society, we focus on leadership as demonstrated by politicians, industry executives, and individual effort related to some major accomplishment. Dealing with the myriad of decision processes immediately following a death in the family is a confusing ordeal…” This e-book gives guidance in advance planning, retirement benefits, wills, living trusts and finances. It also has a checklist that will help you organize all the important information that you will need, and websites where you can find additional help.

For the month of September, IEEE-USA E-Books will offer "The Reliability of the Electric Transmission Infrastructure In the 21st Century – An Analysis: The Energy Policy Act of 2005" written by Patrick Meyer, a former IEEE-USA Government Fellow. In this tech policy e-book, Meyer’s focuses goal was to create an analysis that would assist law-makers in understanding the technical issues surrounding the Energy Policy Act of 2005, and refer it as a background reference, to assist them in making educated and well-balanced decisions regarding the future of the energy and electricity industry. Look for the special link on 1 September.
