How to Become a DISPS Technical Committee Member

According to the Bylaws of IEEE Signal Processing Society (Sec. 501.3), Technical committee members shall be elected by the members of the Technical Committee itself, with the approval of the President-Elect. At a Design and Implementation of Signal Processing Systems technical committee meeting, prospective new members will be nominated by a technical committee member. The credentials of the candidate will be reviewed and discussed by the committee, followed by a vote. To maintain the efficiency of the committee operation, the committee is limited to a maximum number of 32 members.

The following are recommended steps to become a technical committee member:

  • Actively pursuing research and development in the design and implementation of signal processing systems, such as developing
    • electronic design automation tools for signal processing
    • VLSI architectures for signal processing
    • compilers for programmable digital signal processors (DSPs)
    • real-time implementations of signal processing algorithms in VLSI, FPGA, programmable DSP, and/or microcontroller technologies
  • Submitting high quality research papers to the journals, conferences and workshops, associated with the committee.
  • Participate and volunteer organization activities of IEEE Signal Processing Systems Workshop
  • Contact current technical committee members concerning application for membership.
