Awards

Many of the honors of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) are awarded after nomination/endorsement by the technical committees. The endorsement process is thus critical to the promotion of work within the fields represented by our TC. In the IVMSP TC, the Awards Subcommittee is responsible for collecting candidate nominations from SPS members and friends at large, presenting these candidate nominations to the IVMSP TC for consideration (i.e., voting), and then forwarding successful candidates as official nominations from the IVMSP TC.

Deadline

We are currently addressing the 2009 awards. We will send our endorsements to the SPS Vice President-Awards and Membership by October 1, 2009.

Send nominations to by July 29, 2009.

For the following lifetime achievement awards for individuals:

• Education Award
• Meritorious Service Award
• Society Award
• Technical Achievement Award

Paper Awards

For the following awards for specific published papers:

• Best Paper Award (paper appearing in one of the Society's solely-owned Transactions, 2004-2008)
• Signal Processing Magazine Best Paper Award (paper appearing in any issue of Signal Processing Magazine)
• Signal Processing Magazine Best Column Award (paper appearing in any issue of Signal Processing Magazine)
• Young Author Best Paper Award (paper appearing in one of the Society's solely-owned Transactions, 2006-2008)
